The 17th Graduation Day was celebrated on 4th May 2019 with splendid grandeur at PET Engineering College, Vallioor. Prof. P. O. J. Lebba, Chairman, Popular Education Trust presided over the function. The Principal Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff welcomed everyone and gave a panoramic view of the activities of the institution.
The Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Das, Former Executive Vice President Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment delivered the Graduation Day address and presented the degree certificates to the students. He remarked that the graduation day is the golden day in the life of everyone. He applauded the talents of the present day engineering students. In his special address focused on the essence of success and happiness. He remarked that highest happiness is obtained when life has a meaning. Further, he emphasized that knowledge alone is not sufficient to understand the real meaning of happiness.
He insisted that every individual willing to attain success should have the courage to make mistakes and should dare to face challenges. He concluded his address with the famous quotes of the poet and the philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Do not follow where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”.
306 Students from various branches of B.E., B.Tech., M.E., M.B.A and M.C.A degree courses were conferred with the degrees. Ten Anna University rank holders of both UG & PG department were honoured and lauded by the Chief Guest. Mr. N. Haja Mohideen, the Managing Trustee, Mr. S. Khaja Mohideen, the secretary, Mr. S. M. Jamaludeen, the Treasurer, Popular Educational Trust, Trustees, staff and students of various Departments were present during the function. The Coordinator of the Graduation Day function Prof. M. Alwin Joe, HOD of MECH and Dr. S. Babu Rangarajan, HOD of CSE made necessary arrangements for the programme.
