About us

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been continuously making progress in teaching learning process from its inception in the year 1998-99, initially staring with an intake of 40 students, the sanctioned intake was increased to 60 seats in 2000, to 90 seats in 2007 and to 120 seats in 2013. The present intake of the department is 60.

The Post Graduate programme viz. M.E. - Computer Science and Engineering was introduced in the year 2011-12 with an intake of 18 and increased to 24 in 2013-14.

The Department has been maintaining an active interaction with the industries particularly with the Computer Society of India. The department has modernized and well-equipped laboratory in the fields of Computer Software, Information Technology, Image processing, Multimedia.

  • Cultivate the sound knowledge of theory and practical in the discipline of computing to apply the knowledge to the benefit of the society to excel in professional career and/or higher studies.
  • Inculcate moral values and professional ethics.
  • Conducting student centric programme to enhance their soft skill, aptitude and reasoning power, technical certification and self-learning.

Program Educational Objectives

  • PEO 1: Achieve the understanding of the basics and emerging techniques of a broad range of computer science and engineering concepts.
  • PEO 2: Identify and solve computer science and engineering problems through application of fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to become competent IT professional and / or acquire higher education.
  • PEO 3: Exhibit professional skills, effective communication, ethical attitude, leadership skill and team work in their profession and to adapt to the recent trends by engaging in lifelong learning.

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of Computer Science and Engineering, both theoretical and practical.
  2. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to real-life problem solving using computing.
  3. Develop the knowledge of developing algorithms, designing, implementation and testing applications in computer related areas.
  4. Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex Computer Science and Engineering problems.
  5. Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools to Computer Science and Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility towards society.
  7. Examine the impact of Computer Science and engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and oral.
