PET FEST 2018



The 20th College Day Function was celebrated with pomp and gaiety on 24th March 2018 at PET Engineering College, Vallioor. Mr.S.M.S.Hameed, Managing Trustee of Popular Educational Trust welcomed the gathering. Prof.P.O.J.Lebba, the Chairman of the College Governing Council presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. He congratulated the team which includes eminent professionals like Prof.S.Abubucker who have been the underlying cause for bringing up the institution to the present level Dr.N.Mohamed Sheriff, the Principal of the College presented the annual report which glorified the achievements of staff and students in the academic year 2017-18.

Mr. A. Mohamed Jaffar, the Secretary of Popular Educational Trust wished that the students should work in such a way that they leave their signature in the annals of the College history. Mr. D. S. Choudhary, Outstanding Scientist and site Director of Nuclear Power Plant Corporation of India Limited, Kudankulam said that India has tremendous potential to harvest energy and the Department of Atomic Energy is contributing to the energy requirements of the country. He further made the students aware of the fact that growth in energy sector is imperative for the prosperity of India and said that the second unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is expected to start power generation from May.

Mr.Pandaram, Scientific Officer of Nuclear Power Plant said that the technocrats should equip themselves with the skills that are needed to be recruited in Power Plants and contribute to the growth of the nation by their systematic and concerted efforts.

K. R. Jaya Kannan and N. Rishma Begam, III year Electronics and Communication Engineering students were honoured with the most prestigious awards of the College GEM of PET Boy and GEM of PET Girl. Awards were also given to the best outgoing students of each Department. Prizes were given to the academic toppers, and to the students who won prizes in various cultural and literary events. Trophies were also given to the staff who produced exemplary results in the Anna University examinations.
