The 21st Sports Day and College Day was celebrated on 9th March 2019 at PET Engineering College, Vallioor. Prof. R. Kalaiselvi of EEE Department welcomed the gathering. P. O. J. Lebba, Chairman governing council delivered the presidential address. In his address he insisted that every student should update and pursue learning to win laurels in life. Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, the Principal of the College presented the annual report for the year 2018-2019. Mr. N. Haja Mohideen the management trustee, felicitated the gathering. Miss. M. Sandhiya of EEE department introduce the chief guest to the gathering. Mr. S. Jayagopal divisional manager, Ashok Leyland was the chief.
Mr. S. Jayagopal divisional manager, Ashok Leyland was the chief guest for the function. He gave a power point presentation on the history of the revolution of Innovation. He instructed the students to develop a passion for learning, identify one’s potential and develop one’s skill according to the demands of the industry. Further he emphasized that project based learning is better than book based learning. He also iterated on the skills like excessive knowledge, creative ability, communication skills, ability to work as a team and in-depth knowledge on current affairs which the engineers of 21st century ought to inculcate and develop.
The dignitaries then distributed the Prizes for academic events, culturals and achievements in sports. The most covetous award Gem of PET boy was given to Kamal Harris of third year Mechanical and Gem of PET girl was given to Sushma of third year ECE. Mrs P. Jane Anjeline, HOD of Civil department proposed the vote of thanks.
