The program The Long March for Peace through Global Solidarity, Devotion, and Advocacy was conducted at PET Engineering College on August 7, 2026, in association with IWPG (International Women's Peace Group) and PURA (People Upliftment in Rural Areas) to spread the message of peace, unity, and global cooperation. The Principal, Dr. K. Madhan Kumar, Dean – Academics, Dr. Tharvish Mohideen, and the management team felicitated the gathering.
The event was graced by dignitaries from IWPG: Ms. Eunhyo Heo, Regional Director of IWPG Global Region 3, South Korea, and Ms. Hyuna Park, Regional Operations Manager, IWPG. They shared IWPG's vision of achieving world peace through women's leadership, education, and advocacy.
The program began with a welcome dance that reflected cultural heritage, unity, and peace. Dignitaries from IWPG and PURA also shared their insights on how peace begins at home and spreads its wings to society and the nation. The program highlighted the significant contribution of women in building a peaceful society.
The formal welcome address was delivered by Ms. R. Kalaiselvi. Students actively participated in the slogan writing competition organized in connection with the program and took a pledge to serve as ambassadors of peace. This impactful event was organized by Ms. R. Kalaiselvi and Training & Placement Officer Mr. S. Mohamed Peer Matharsha.
