On 13-03-2024, an online seminar titled "Growth of Semiconductor Industry Scenario in India" was held at the Seminar Hall in the Main Block. The seminar was intended for third-year CSE and second-year EEE students. The resource person for the seminar was Mrs. Sharmila Desingh, Founder & CEO of Liyami Solutions, Career Development Training Academy. In her address, Mrs. Desingh emphasized that there are more job opportunities in semiconductor industries for both hardware and software fields. She also listed corporate recruiters in the semiconductor industry and clearly elucidated how EEE & CSE students could plan accordingly to get placed in the semiconductor industries.
A total of 86 students attended the seminar, with 66 students from the third-year CSE department and 20 students from the second-year EEE department. The students had the opportunity to interact with Mrs. Desingh and clarify their doubts on the topic. The seminar aimed to create awareness on how Viksit Bharat@2047 can be achieved through research and innovation. The program was arranged by Dr. S. Babu Rengarajan, HOD/CSE, and Mrs. R. Kalaiselvi, HOD/EEE. Additionally, a live stream of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi's inaugural ceremony of laying the foundation of three semiconductor projects was telecast. The students also listened to the prime minister's address, which focused on India's semiconductor mission to make chips in the home country rather than importing them. |
