Five days Workshop on Stock Market was organized by the Department of Management Studies, PET Engineering College, Vallioor from 23/07/2018 to 27/07/2018. Mr. M. Sudhakar, Brand Manager, Steel City Securities Pvt. Ltd., Tirunelveli was the resource person for this workshop. 53 students of second year MBA had attended the workshop. The inauguration function held on 23-07-2018 at 10.00 am started with Quirath rendered by, Second year student of MBA, followed by Tamil Thaai Valtthu . L. Nadar Bharat Laxman welcomed the gathering. The session was presided over by the Head of the Department Prof. K. Samuel Saravanan. S. Lavanya, Final year MBA gave an introduction about the Chief Guest Mr. M. Sudhakar, Brand Manager, Steel City Securities Pvt. Ltd., Tirunelveli . The resource person started the session by explaining the short tutorial on Stock market trading. In the afternoon session the resource person explained the Stock market trading and the theory of stock exchange and common Terms used in Stock Exchange and trading membership.
On the second day the resource person explained the role of market maker, the process of buying and selling as well as how compounding works and in the afternoon he explained about derivatives market and growth of derivatives in the world. The third day the resource person started with a brief discussion of the topics that were covered the previous day. He explained the need of currency trading and requirement for currency trading for students and in the afternoon he explained commodities trading and requirement for commodities trading for business people and growth of currency Derivatives & commodities derivatives in World.
The fourth day the resource person explained about fundamental analysis revolved around the three basic requisite for it – Balance sheet, Profit and loss and cash flow and in the afternoon he explained about topics such as macro economics indicators, Industry analysis and market opportunities and basic of Technical analysis. The fifth day the he presented a live online demo on share market and its trading expertise and in the afternoon session he elucidated on the different ways to be successful in stock market trading. It was followed by an interactive session with the students. The students raised their doubts regarding the nuances of the trade. The students enthusiastically participated in the hands on session. Test session was conducted, to know the level of understanding in this 5 days certificate program. Out of 53 students, 42 students have cleared the test. The valedictory function was held on 27.07.2018. Our honorable Principal Dr. N. Mohammed Sheriff, Mr. K.Samuel Saravanan, Head of the Department MBA Department were presided the valedictory function. Some of the participants expressed their experiences in the workshop. The resource person, the principal and the HOD distributed the certificates to the participants. The function ended with vote of thanks by Ms. M.Sorna Radha, Second year student of MBA Department who expressed his gratitude towards all the dignitaries, participants and all other helping hands, which contributed towards the success of the event.
