A One Day Seminar on “Remote Sensing Enabling Our Future” was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Research and Development Cell, PET Engineering College, Vallioor on 8th October, 2016. Seminar was presented by the Resource Person Mr. K. Velmurugan, M.Tech. Scientist Engineer, Liquid Assembly Section, Indian Space Research Organization. Dr. P. Kannan, Professor & HOD of ECE delivered the welcome address and introduced the chief guest. Mr. K. Velmurugan addressed the participants and shared the basics and use of Satellite communication and its application in the field of Remote sensing. First he shared the reason of celebrating the space week from October 4th to October10th. He explained about the basics of Satellite Communication and its launching vehicle. From the seminar, we have understood that all the engineering disciplines are involved in launching satellite. His seminar explained us the Component and application of remote sensing in various fields. The Remote sensing images and Geo information system are interrelated and it provides the information about the geographical data. These images gave warning message in the time of disasters like Tsunami, Earth Quake. From these images drought areas could be easily identified and the people in the particular area would be easily rescued. At the end of seminar, the resource person explained the opportunities for Electronics student in PSU like BHEL,ISRO,HAL,GAIL,SAIL. The Final Year students and Third year students of B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering participated in this seminar. At the end of the session students gave their feedback about the seminar. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs.C.Rekha, Assistant Professor of ECE Department. |
