The department of Computer Applications conducted a one day State level symposium ‘CRACKS - 2K19’ on 25/09/2019. Dr. A. Kalaiselvi, HOD of MCA Department delivered the welcome address.
Dr. N. Mohammed Sheriff, Principal, PET Engineering College, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he said that the objective of such symposia is to realize the talents of the individual. Further, he wished the students to attain more laurels in life.
Ms. M. Lingeswari of final year MCA introduced the chief guest to the audience. Dr. A. Suruliandi, Controller of Examinations, Manonmaniam Sundarnar University, Tirunelveli was the special guest for the program. He delivered a special address on the topic “Big Data and Social Media”. The chief guest in his address elucidated on the technological nuances behind the function of social media and social networking using Big Data as a tool. He also detailed on the vulnerabilities in various types of social networking and cautioned the students to make the right use of this technological boon. The program was honoured by Mr. N. Haja Mohideen, Managing trustee, Mr. S. Khaja Mohideen, Secretary and Mr. S. M. Jamaludeen, Treasurer. The symposium served as a platform for the students to exhibit their talents in both academic and non - academic spheres. Various events like collage, keyword finding, amusement and staging were conducted and the students participated in it with zeal and zest. Students from various Arts and Science Colleges around the state participated in the event.
The winners of various competitions were given prizes and certificates. The overall shield was bagged by Govindhammal Arts and Science College, Thiruchendur. Ms. Anandha Valli of II MCA proposed the vote of thanks. |
