Five days Workshop on "Finite Element Analysis" was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, PET Engineering College, Vallioor from 08-08-2016 to 12-08-2016. Dr. C. Selvamony, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, PSN College of Engineering and Technology, Tirunelveli, was the resource person for this workshop. 42 students of final year civil and 23 students of third year civil and 15 students of second year civil had attended the workshop. Ms. Sameena Hajara. J. M, third year student of Civil Department welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. Prof. Vijayalakshmi Head of the Department introduced the resource person. Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, Principal, PET Engineering College, delivered the inaugural address and handed over the session to the resource person. The resource person started the session with the Introduction about the software, explained the Origins and Types of FEA Errors, the control of discretization errors, modelling of software were explained also he demonstrated those analysis using software. The resource person explained the practical application of FEM software and had a hands on session was conducted. The students enthusiastically participated in the hands on session. The valedictory function was held on 12.08.2016. Our Principal Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, Prof. Vijayalakshmi Head of the Department and Mr. M. K. Basheer Ahamed, Assistant Professor, Civil Department were presided the valedictory function. Some of the participants expressed their experiences in the workshop. The resource person, the principal and the HOD distributed the certificates to the participants. The function ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Jerilson. K, Third year student of Civil Department who expressed his gratitude towards all the dignitaries, participants and all other helping hands, which contributed towards the success of the event.
