Department of Civil Engineering

The installation of FACEAT Student Chapter of PET Engineering College was held on 4th January 2018. Prof. P. Jane Angeline, Head of the Civil Engineering Department welcomed the gathering. Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, the Principal of the College delivered the presidential address. He highlighted the importance of Civil Engineering and the steps that the students should take to climb up in the ladder of success.

Prof. G. Sokkanathan, Regional Secretary of FACEAT &P gave a bird’s eye view of the Association and its activities. Er. M. K. Basheer Ahamed, Former President of TiruCEA & Co-Chairman of Award Committee, FACEAT & P introduced the office bearers. Installation of the officer bearers was done by Er.S.K Syed Mohamed Buhari, President of TiruCEA and Managing Director of Popular Construction, Melapalayam.

A short film regarding Civil Engineering Discipline created by students was screened which gave a glimpse of the historical background of the Branch and its trend in the modern era. Er. A. Lawrence Walter gave an insight on the basic concepts of structures by giving different field related examples.

The Principal distributed the memento to the chief guest and to the guest of honours. Certificates were also given to the volunteers and to the winners of various curricular and co-curricular activities.
Prof. T. M. Mohamed Usman, Assistant Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering proposed vote of thanks.
