The PET Engineering College is sponsored by the Popular Educational Trust. Popular Educational Trust, known as PET, is a registered Charitable Trust founded in the year 1996. The Trustees, a number of them employed in Gulf Countries, are devoted to the cause of providing quality higher education in the field of engineering, technology, professional, managerial, medical and general available in India and abroad to the youths of the Country in general and educationally backward communities, in particular. The Trustees lay stress on moral and social values and strive for the educational uplift of Muslims. The Trust is funded from contributions received from the Trustees and Patrons and is managed by an Executive Committee. Establishment of the PET Engineering College was the 1^st major educational activity of the Trust. As the 1st institution enters its 10^th year of existence in 2008, the Trustees established, PET College of Teacher Education and PET Polytechnic College also from the academic year 2008-09.
