The inaugural programme of the Rotaract Club of PET Engineering College, Vallioor was organized by the Rotary Club of Twin City, Tirunelveli. Rotary prayer was done by Rtn. S. Samsudeen Shaffi, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department and the rotaract prayer by Ms. Ahamed Banu, a final year ECE student. Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, the Principal of the college delivered the welcome address. Mr. Abdullateef Sheik Uthman, the Correspondent of the College was also present during the occasion. Dr. Chinnadurai Abdullah, Rotary Governor – Elect, (RI-Dist.3212) was the chief guest for the Roraract installation. In his address, he emphasised the role to be played by student members in achieving literary and health services to the society by involving the Rotaract members jointly with Rotarians. The purpose of the event was explained by RC Twin City president Rtn. S.M.S. Hameed. District Chairman Rtn. Mohamed Yousuff Raja, explained in detail the use of being a rotarian. The office bearers for the academic year 2016 – 2017 were selected. It is remarkable to note that 1323 students have become members of the Rotary Club at one and the same time. Rtn. Major Donor J. Navamani, former District Governor offered felicitation. Rtn. Palaniappan, Secretary of Rotary Club of Twin City, Tirunelveli proposed vote of thanks. |
