FACEAT & P Student Chapter

Event Report


The FACEAT & P student Chapter of PETEC and PETEPC was installed at PET Engineering College by the Department of Civil Engineering on 19th Sep, 2019. Mr. M. Petchikkan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering.

The Principal Dr. N.Mohammed Sheriff presided over the function. He emphasized that the students should leave no stone unturned to face the cut-throat competition of the present age. He also motivated the students to prepare themselves to become worthy and competent engineers. Further, he said that it is the primary concern of every student to have a strong ground in the fundamentals of engineering and even failure should be taken as stepping stone to success. A video presentation on the history and achievements of Civil Engineering was also presented.

FACEAT & P Student Chapter was installed and the office bearers of the association of both PET Engineering and PET Polytechnic were nominated by Er. N. Essaki, President of Tirunelveli Civil Engineering Association. In his address he insisted that hard work alone fetches success and there are multiple avenues available in the field to explore and achieve excellence.

Mr. N. Haja Mohideen, Managing Trustee in his felicitation remarked that Civil Engineers alone have got the previledge of becoming entrepreneurs. Er. A. Manmathan, Secretary of TiruCEA hinted upon the new Civil Engineers Act which would help to promote better job opportunities for Civil Engineers. Mr. R. Kamaraj, Principal of PET Polytechnic College stated that every individual should choose the right path and chisel his life to become innovative engineers.

Mr. S. Khaja Mohideen, Secretary, Mr. S. M. Jamaludeen, Treasurer of Popular Educational Trust and Er. D. Baskar, the Treasurer of TiruCEA, Mr. G. Rajesh, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, PET Polytechnic were the guests of honour.

Er. S. Saravanan, Vice President of Tirunelveli Civil Engineering Association addressed the students on the topic ‘Ethics and Economics of Civil Structures’. After an interactive session with the students, the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. T. Usman Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering. The students of PET Polytechnic and Engineering College had an exposure of the new avenues in the field of Civil Engineering. The program was co-ordinated by Mr. V. Gopala
