A Grand Alumni Meet was conducted at Panorama Grand Hotel, Dubai on 22.02.2019 at 2.00 p.m. It was hosted by Popular Educational Trust in co-ordination with Alumni Association. A group of thirty members comprising of Trust members, Principal, HODs and faculty from the college participated in the meeting. Nearly 150 alumni from Dubai, Sharjah, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain enthusiastically participated in the meeting. Mrs. C. Rekha Alumni Vice-President (2005 Batch) welcomed the gathering. Series of video clippings on the memories of PET Engineering College from 1998-2019 proved to be a feast to the eye of the participants, reminiscing the memories of the days in their alma matter. The Alumni Patron and Principal, Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff presided over the function and expressed his happiness over the overwhelming response of the alumni. He insisted that all the alumni should have close interaction with the college alumni cell. The Chairman Prof. P. O. J. Lebba, College Governing Council, Managing Trustee Mr. N. Haja Mohideen and Mr. S. M. S. Hameed, former Managing Trustee felicitated the gathering. After the dignitaries’ speech, the senior alumni Mr. S. Ashraf Ali (2002 Batch) Manager of IBM Middle East FZ LLC, Dubai, Mr. Abdul Manaf (2003 Batch), MEP Manager at ALEC Engineering and Contracting LLC, Dubai, Mr. Deepu Shankar (2004 Batch), Senior Project Engineer at Desert Leisure, Abu Dhabi, Mr. S. Subeesh (2005 Batch) Manager at Alpha Data, UAE, shared their cherished memories and a record of their trodden path.
Certain resolutions were taken with the alumni. It was suggested that they could guide our students on demands of the industry and also their real time experiences. Further, it was decided that those working in reputed concerns could refer our talented students during recruitment.
