Multi-resolution Based Image Enhancement Techniques

Event Report

Webinar on Multi-resolution Based Image Enhancement Techniques was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Research & Development Cell, PET Engineering College, Vallioor on 18th September, 2017. Webinar was presented by the Resource Person Dr. S. Deivalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, National Institute of Technology, Trichy.

Ms. C. S. Sree Thayanandeswari, Assistant Professor of ECE Department, delivered the welcome address and introduced the Chief Guest Dr. S. Deivalakshmi and handed over the session to the resource person. There were 29 PG Scholars (First and Second Year Students from M.E. Communication Systems) and 4 faculty members participated in the programme.

The resource person explained the concepts and mathematical formulations of single wavelet and multi-wavelet decomposition methods for the image enhancement applications. She discussed the performance comparisons of various methodologies used in multi-resolution based on image enhancement technique and taught the concept of Discrete Stochastic Resonant method. Finally, she concluded that Second Order MWT method is better than First order MWT method.

At the end of the session the resource person gave some guidelines for the PG Scholars to review refereed journals and requested the students to identify the problem of their project and asked them to go through various Scopus indexed journals and IEEE transactions on different areas for solving the issues.
