Renewable Energy Club - Inaugural Function

Event Report


The inaugural function of “Renewable Energy Club” for the academic year 2019-20 was conducted on 9th October 2019 at PET Engineering College, Vallioor. P. Kamatchinathan, of II year Electrical and Electronics Engineering welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. N. Mohammed Sheriff presided over the function. In his Presidential address, he advised the students to be aware of the current happenings around them. He hinted upon the surge of vehicles that run on battery which he said is one of the promising future in the automobile industry. He also emphasized that the students should utilize this club as a forum to attain success in their career through innovative means.

Prof. R. Kalai Selvi, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics introduced the Chief Guest R. Radha Krishnan, Sr. Scientist, IPRC/ISRO, Mahendragiri to the audience. In his special address, he advocated the students to avoid erratic use of energy and promoted them to do research and development in the field of renewable energy with social consciousness. Further, he said that it is the primary duty of every individual to take initiative to conserve energy and avert its exploitation. The guest of honour Shri. H. Sankara Subramanian, Scientist/Engineer, IPRC/ISRO, Mahendragiri, made a technical presentation on the topic “An outlook on Renewable Energy”. 91 students of EEE and MECH department participated in the event

M. Prabhu, a final year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. G. P. Rajesh of EEE and J. Karthick of Mechanical Engineering made the necessary arrangements for the program.
