Five days Workshop on Water and wastewater Technologies was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, PET Engineering College, Vallioor from 02-03-2020 to 06-03-2020. Dr. Rajesh Banu, Associate Professor, Central University of Thiruvarur, was the resource person for this workshop. 32 students of final year civil and 28 students of third year civil had attended the workshop. Ms. J. Rubesha, Third year student of Civil Department welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. Mr. M. Petchikkan, Head of the Department introduced the resource person. Dr. K. Madhan Kumar, Principal, PET Engineering College, delivered the inaugural address and handed over the session to the resource person. The resource person started the session by explaining the short tutorial on WAWT. He explained in detail about Methodologies, purpose of waste water treatment and its needs. The resource person explained the analyzing parameters, the technic to tackle water scarcities and had hands on session for it, the anaerobic treatment technic for sludge management and demonstrated the model, he advance treatment technic in waste water treatment the future technologies in waste water treatment through power point presentation and everyday afternoon session he demonstrated the limitations in practical implementation.
Test session was conducted, to know the level of understanding in this 5 days certificate program. Out of 60 students, 50 students have cleared the test. The valedictory function was held on 06.03.2020. Our honorable Principal Dr. K. Madhan Kumar, Mr. M. Petchikkan, Head of the Department and Mr. T. M. Mohamed Usman, Assistant Professor, Civil Department were presided the valedictory function. Participants expressed their experiences in the workshop. The resource person, the Principal and the HOD distributed the certificates to the participants. The function ended with vote of thanks by Mr. D. Bright Kingsly, Third year student of Civil Department who expressed his gratitude towards all the dignitaries, participants and all other helping hands, which contributed towards the success of the event. |
