The inaugural function of “Renewable Energy Club” for the academic year 2018-19 was conducted on 25th September 2018 at PET Engineering College, Vallioor. P. Amudhan, a second year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student welcomed the gathering. Dr. N. Mohamed Sheriff, the Principal of the college delivered the inaugural address. He emphasized on the responsibility of the Energy Club members. He gave an overall view about the struggle for power and the need for conservation of energy in the present scenario where there is immense energy crisis.
Prof. R. Kalai Selvi, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics introduced the Chief Guest Er. R. Chithambaranathan, Manager, Suzlon Energy Limited, Tamil Nadu to the audience. He highlighted on the importance of non-conventional energy. He illustrated on the technology behind the function, installation of windmills and Production of Electrical Energy. Totally 79 students of MECH and EEE participated in the program. P. Tamil Selvan, a second year Mechanical Engineering student proposed the vote of thanks.
